A whole Iban people lives in one longhouse
A whole Iban people lives in one house. Called a longhouse, the structure is divided into "Doors", or families, which open onto bamboo platforms like the one here. People, dogs, pigs, and chickens share the communal life, resulting in a tight knit, cooperative, but disease-ridden, society.Photo Circa 1960's
