 Kuching electricity station @ Kuching Power station at Jalan Power across the Old Fire Station.The power station build in 1920's replacing the old Government Sawmill.Years later,this power station demolished and new building erected here,name Electra House in 1965.The electra word came from term Electric which was given credit to the old building stand there before.

The Aurora Hotel

 The Aurora Hotel, which broke ground in 1952 and grandly opened on November 25, 1955, is the most luxurious hotel in Kuching and a social place for upper class society.The building behind the Aurora Hotel is the St. Thomas School. 

Before the Aurora Hotel, this area was where the Sarawak Union Club was located, the Aurora Hotel was demolished in the early 1990s and replaced by the current Independence Palace Hotel. 

As you can see from the picture, the open space between the Aurora Hotel and St Thomas’ School was once built in the famous Kuching Building in the 1980s. Circa 1960's.

Field Force Brigade of Kuching

 Berek Polis berdekatan Astana Kuching yang juga dikenali sebagai Brigade oleh penduduk tempatan,menempatkan Pasukan Polis Hutan atau sekarang dikenali sebagai PGA(Pasukan Gerakan Am).Kawasan brigade ini mempunyai sejarah yang panjang di mana tempat ini dahulunya adalah markas untuk Sarawak rangers,kemudiannya Sarawak Constabulary.

Seluruh kawsaan ini telah dirobohkan lebih sepuluh tahun yang lepas untuk pembangunan Dewan Undangan Negeri yang baru,turut dirobohkan adalah Muzium Polis yang berada di kawasan yang sama.Brigade telah dipindahkan ke Batu Kawah yang menempatkan kem Batalion ke 11 PGA di sana.

 Marine Department wharf nearby Kuching riverfront, most of the building nearby the wharf are demolished to give way to the Waterfront.Only several building are left as we can see today.Seen far behind is secretariat building and electra house. - Circa 1980's

Kuching Old Taxi Station

Taxi stand at the tri junction of Lebuh Java, Market Street and Gambir Street. Also can be seen here is Kuching Open air market and old style Coffee shop which has demolished few years back. - Circa 1995.

Swee Hua Cinema

 During the peak of Cinema Time,there was many Cinema open in Kuching.In the Satok area ,there are two Cinema which is Miramar and the other is Swee Hua which located approximately 1km difference.Unlike Miramar.which the building is still around,Swee Hua Cinema Building totally demolished few years ago.

The Old Rumah Dayak Miri

 Rumah Dayak Miri, circa 1970's.Located across Imperiall Mall and Hotel. The whole building was demolished and replaced with three storey shophouses.One of the main occupant in this building was Sekolah Menengah Sri Mawar.

Side Entrance to Choice Super Mall

 Side entrance to Choice Super Mall at Semariang.This place was a household name back then,ecspecially in Petra Jaya area.The Mall demolished and replaced by bigger building which then replaced Giant Hypermarket.Few years after that,Giant close their business theer and replaced by Eco Mall with H&L Supermarket as anchor tenant there.

Roxy cinema at Batu 3 flyover, near to sunny Hill school. The building demolished few years ago and now replaced with Roxy Hotel.

Old Odeon Cinema at Kuching

Odeon cinema, behind the Oriental Emporium and Supermarket. The building was demolished and replace with Tun Jugah Building. This Cinema known for showing chinese movies and sometime showing live performance, either Chinese Opera or Singing/Music concert.

Old Jambatan Batang Sadong

Old Jambatan Batang Sadong at jalan Serian - Simanggang ( Sri Aman ) road,the bridge has been demolished for a wider and bigger bridge.

Miri Gateway Arch at Tamu Muhibbah

Miri Gateway Arch at Tamu Muhibbah,this arch has long demolished and now part of a new flyover - Circa 8th March 1987. There are two gateway arch in Miri including this one,the other was at nearby Miri airport.Also got demolished few years back for the cause of widening the road.

Old Sarawak Treasury office

Sarawak Treasury office,now this place became part of Plaza Merdeka.This building was an office for other depratmen before it became sarawak treasury Department,it was also office for Sarawak Secretariat ( then move to the Secretariat Building) and Sarawak Printing Office ( move to Building across the Central Police Station and then finally moved to building across Wisma Saberkas - now known as Percetakan Nasional Berhad )
