The earliest photo of Satok Suspension Bridge in Satok area.Shown here the Steel towers 70 ft high for suspension bridge.After few decades,the bridge close for Public sometimes end of 1990's and early 2000's ,the bridge suddenly collapsed.The only things remain is this Steel towers,one at the Satok area and the other across the river (now nearby Kubah Ria food court).
Early this year (2018) Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari bin Abang Tun Haji Openg announcing to rebuild this historic Satok Suspension Bridge.This Bridge is the first Bridge connecting Satok (the Mainland) to Matang area (now known as Petra Jaya) .Since the early day,this Bridge is not only use by people jay walking but also commuting motorcycles,cars and small bus.
Only after the new bridge build nearby ( Tun Abdul Rahman Yaakub bridge) this Suspension bridge only use for people to across the river as the othe bridge is bigger and accommodate bigger vehicles.In the later before its collapse,this bridge use mostly by anglers.
