S.S. SHINFU, formerly RAJAH of SARAWAK.
Built: 1901 as the RAJAH of SARAWAK for the Sarawak and Singapore S.S. Co. by Ramage & Ferguson Ltd., Leith, Yard No. 178.
Requisitioned in 1917 as an Expeditionary Force transport. Owners renamed Sarawak Steamship Co. Ltd., Kuching in 1919. Sold to G.L. Shaw of Singapore in 1932 and renamed the SHINFU. Served in the Liner Division with British India Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., as managers from the 25th November 1940 until 5th November 1942.

Tanjong Lobang di Miri

*sekadar Gambar Hiasan,mun maok nanggar Tanjong Lobang,pegi ke Miri

Tanjong Lobang..pertama kali nengar nama tempat tok masa aku sekolah di Kuching dolok,ada nengar nama Sekolah Tuanku Haji Bujang di Tanjong Lubang..kakya mula mula sampei di Miri dolok.baruklah nanggar dengan mata mpun tempat tok.yalah masa tinggal di Kuching nang sik ku pernah nanggar tempat tok..jadi masa ku sampei mula mula tahun 1998 dolok ke sitok sebenarnya malam pertama aku tidor di kuarters kerajaan atas bukit Tanjung Lobang yalah..malam malam setiap setengah Jam ada jka nengar bunyi helikopter,my assumption lah kali sidak ngembak urang kerja minyak di laut..yalah tek..mun di Miri..equal kerja laut,kerja minyak..Tapi kali tok aku bukan maok nak ncerita tentang sidak kerja Offshore tapi tentang Tanjong Lobang..

Heran juak aku,pelik juak nama tempatnya Tanjong Lobang tok..apa nak belubangnya..heran aku..mun pergi ke sia sikda juak ku nanggar lubang.Lubang apakah ?hahahha tang pelik jak bunyinya.Zaman ujung 90an dan awal 2000 ,kawan aku kadir masih tinggal di Kuarters nak berdepan Tanjong Lobang ya..nang cun berdepan dengan Kuda Belang di Tanjong Lobang (kaktok dipendek kan ajak sebagai Tanjong) rumah sidak ya.Bapaknya kerja perintah ntah Jabatan apa sik juak aku ingat.nak ku ingat aku nang selalu lepak di rumahnya mbaca komik Dragon Ball,pedang setiawan Sambil melastik asuk nak lalu lalang depan rumahnya.

Masa ya jeraya nak maok nait ke Tanjong atas ya iboh jak,nang curam gila babi eh..heran juak babi..Maka jalan curam dikait indah dengan nya..Jadi pendek cerita,,Jalan ya nang Bahaya lah.Shahril anak tokei Damai keretanya pernah terbang turun dari bukit ya adeh..nang bahaya juaklah..

Di Tanjong Lobang tokada Taman Selera,tempat makan.ada satey,aek nyior dan pemandangan nanggar laut..tapi ya masa yalah..nak ku nengar kinek tok tempat ya dah didevelop..jadi tempat swasta dan mun swasta megang..semua berkaitan duit ajaklah..semua maok kantau..Lamak juak dah aku sik pergia.last pergi bulan posa tok tahun 2012 sikda ku lalu kawasan ya.Nak ku dengar tempat makan ya udah tutup.Siktauklah kah sementara tau diganti lain.

Tok ku suka mun beloyar lalu melelat kangkong..embak cerita lainjadinya .maka mula mula tek bercerita tentang Tanjong Lobang.Jadi balit pada cerita kenak tempat tok dinamakan Tanjong Lobang..Memang nyata area tok adalah Tanjong tapi dimana lobangnya.Ikut cerita kawan kawan ku nok asal di miri dan dah dengar cerita tok bergenarasi..Kat area dibah rumah api Tanjong Lobang.ada gua..Gua..kata omputihnya Cave..Jadi gua tok nang dah lamak.mungkin berusia 10 juta atau 100 juta tahun..(ya tekaan aku ajaklah) .Jadi Gua tok nang gua semulajadi yang dah terbentuk sekian lamanya..

Jadi gua tok hanya terkenal masa zaman jepun dolok..yalah tek biasalah cerita kita sitok semuanya berkait dengan Jepun.Tapi Miri nanglah masa ya tempat target jepun sebab banyak Minyak.Pendek cerita gik Gua tok tempat sidak Jepun bertapok sementara maok nyerang Miri..Tapi salahnya tek Gua tok nya akan nampak masa time aek surut ajak.Mun aek pasangnya tenggelam pintunya..pendek cerita jepun banyak mati di gua ya..adi gua ya bukan setakat gua juak..

Gua ya pintu masuk ke dalam gua yang lebih panjang agik yang menjalar ke serata pelusuk miri.Terdapat beberapa Pintu keluar..antaranya
1. Di Pujut Padang Kerbo
2. Di Kampung Riam
3. Dekat kawasan Pasar (area JPJ lamak ) dekat Bomba.

Keterangan tok banyak dikongsi oleh urang ramei sam ada pernah nengar nengar ajak dan ada juak pernah nanggar dengan mata palak dikpun.Macam aku ,aku pernah angga nak dekat Pujut ya ajak..nampak pintu keciknya tapi dah lamak gilak sik dipakei urang.Mungkin dah terhakis dalamnya kali.

Jadi selain ya tek ada juak kisah URBAN LEGEND tentang urang nok pernah nyiasat lubang gua tok tek.Pernah romputih datang ngembak orang tempatan masuk ke sia..Urang tempatan masuk mula kakya ilang..kakya romputih ya masuk kakya ilang juak..sidak ncarik agik dan jumpa urang putih ya tinggal sekerat badan jak .Sekerat agik macam nampak kenak makan jak..eiii..mungkin kata urang ada binatang tahap rasaksa nok tinggal dalam ya tapi persoalannya binatang apa? Ular raksasksa,biawak raksaksa atau naga atau raksaksa dalam cerita ultraman.

Jadi seperti biaslah mun dah nama URBAN LEGEND tok ceritanya boleh beranak pinak dan terus jadi mega pembulak dan bertambah bulak hahhaha..Anyway mun maok nanggar Tanjong Lobang dan gua gua misteri ya pergilah ke Miri,sementara tempat ya masih ada.takut kelak kelak dah sik ada agik .terhakis dimakan zaman atau diruntuhkan oleh orang kaya untuk ngolah Istana.

Kuching circa 1970's : What's missing here ? If you're from Kuching or have been in Kuching.You know what is missing..what building still there,what building we can't find there and for sure,today there is a lot of things disappear ,compare to today landscape.

Santubong Old Shop Houses

Old Shop houses in Santubong,as i can remember since 1980's when i was little kid,this shophouses already exist and source from elder in Santubong this shophouses remain this condition since 1950's.Earlier there was 6 block of shop houses but then reduced to only 3..(middle 1990's)..Now there's only 2 proprietor left here..one become the household name in Santubong is Ah Kun Shop,even though his son run the shop now,the name Ah Kun shop remain until today..
Back in 1980's and before there was no other shop here in Santubong,beside Ah Kun and few shop there.When Santubong Bridge open sometimes in 1987,Santubong people have access directly to shop from Kuching City where they can buy directly goods from Kuching.During the times where only boat use for transportation from Kuching to Santubong and vice versa,its hard to the villagers to buy items from kuching and take a few days to go upriver to Kuching and bring items via the boat.

Today,all of the hardship become history and just become an old man story to tell to their offsprings.However the Ah Kun shop and the shophouses still become an household name here in santubong and the villagers still buying items here.

Awas ada Buaya

Awas ada buaya (Beware Of Crocodile) : Where got Crocodile In Sarawak ?? hahaha very stupid question to ask,but if you dont know,almost every big and small river in Sarawak have crocodile,and this crocodile have long brutal history against human especially against human live nearby the river.Every year there are several cases of crocodile attack and eating human,in some cases,the body of victim never found again.But,people still using river in sarawak as their source of income and route of transportation.

Rajang river and samarahan River are known with their brutal crocodile and the crocodile have their own name which is known as Bujang Senang and bujang Samarahan,during 1980's ,Rejang river rampaged by Bujang senang,a legendary crocodile among local and even for sarawakian. There's a myth saying Bujang Senang is human cursed becoming a crocodile and since then he make revenge against the descendant of the people's that cursed him.Malay and Iban are most people attack and kill by the crocodile including by Bujang Senang.

At the end of 1980's large hunting conducted by Forest Department of sarawak,hunting Bujang Senang because Bujang Senang attack and kill people and make people live nearby hard to use the river and doing their daily job.In Sarawak,river is source for food,generate income and for transportation. During this operation the Forest department managed to kill one gigantic crocodile and they confirm it as Bujang Senang,The dead crocodile have a white stripe on it back,some people says,that the dead crocodile is not Bujang Senang but his assistant Daeng perani..who knows the real story?? But since then ,the rampage at Batang Lupar gone.. only sometimes there's still vicious attack by crocodile but not from Bujang Senang,maybe by other crocs.Maybe descendant of Bujang Senang,who lnows.His Son avenged the death of hos father...hahahha,and the legend still continue until today.

Recent years,the Crocs rise again,attacking human not only in Batang Lupar but in other part of sarawak,even at the beach (Pasir Pandak)..Some people says that Crocodile numbers are rising in these few years and since no hunting against them,crocs are multiply each years..without no competitors like piranha or other type of Predator here in Borneo,The crocs not only multiplying but can get bigger and bigger and become monster crocs.
