The Mighty Sungai Rejang river
The Mighty Sungai Rejang seen from Sibu Port.Sibu is a Town by a river and for decades most of the business and daily life depending from the river,from transportaion do daily need.There was many shipping Company here including related to logging company and express boat.Change of demography and upgrading of road connectivity nearby ,some business related shipping are declining although some can still able to survive and adapt latest business.
For those outsiders want to have trip to Sibu,it is more adventurous to go here from Kuching by Express Boat and continue to upper river to Kapit and experiencing beautiful scenery along Rejang River.
Old Kuching District Office
Majlis Perbandaran Kuching ( Kuching Municipal Council ) located at the junction of Khoo Hu Yeang Street and Barrack Road.- Circa 1970's
Before that is was occupied by The Old Government Printing Office and built in 1908, on the former site of the first Ladies’ Club.When the Printing Office moved out in 1951, the building was extensively renovated to house the newly-formed Kuching Municipal Council and when the council moved to it new premises, the building served as the Kuching Resident’s Office until 2014. It is now occupied by the Sarawak Museum Department.
Far at the back we can see,Dewan Tun Abdul razak which has been demolished now for a new Muzeum Campus Building.

Boat at Pengkalan Panjang - Circa 1970's
Workers at boat moved some items at Pengkalan Panjang.Along Main street near Kuching Riverfront,there are many Jetty and wharf.Most wharf are occupied with bigger ship and have more far destination.For a smaller boat like aboved,most of them are using smaller Jetty and Pengkalan.
They drop in or drop off item come from nearby area such as Bau,Samarahan and other nearby place bringing fresh farm produce and daily need.After a better road connection and transportation,this type of transportation become less use by the transporter since it took longer time and cost compare using the road.Nowadays this method of transportation only can be seen at upper river area where,places still unconnected with main road.

Fishing at Miri Estuary

Upwell departmental Store at Wisma Phoenix
Old Upwell Shopping Centre at Wisma Phoenix, Jalan Song Thian Cheok.This place was a famous place for Shopping in 1980's to 1990's until it closed in middle 2000's and moved into two different location which is at nearby Kubah Ria and at Jalan Song.
Half of shops in this building was convert to Hotel ( Hotel 360 ) where 1st floor fully become hotel room while registration counter at the ground floor.While the other half of former Upwell store in ground floor are mostly vacated.Only a few shop and business remain in business there now.

The Tanjong Lobang School Footballers team
The Tanjong Lobang School Footballers team,
The most prestigious government secondary school in Miri was the Tanjong Lobang School. The school also boasts an impressive alumni, many of whom went on to become the decision makers in Sarawak.
Seen in this 1959 photo is former Cabinet Minister Tan Sri Dr Leo Moggie (back row, right) and Former Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu (front row, left).

Pangkalan Panjang at Jalan Gambier Kuching - Circa 1970's. River in Sungai Sarawak on those days are live with lot of activities and people use it from day to night.From small Sampan to big Ship having route from Bau to as far as to Bintulu,Mir and beyond.
Kampung Wireless Miri
Kampung Wireless, one of the oldest settlement in Miri City by the river.It has been told by the elders here,the name of this Village was given during the Brookr era when one tower ere erected nearby and this tower is a communication tower ( for radio transmission ) since there was no cable or wired,it's a wireless.Since then the whole area was known as Wireless.
The source came from a few man,maybe there's another source and story for the origin of this place,Share it if you know.

Kapit Strong man
Ini pemandangan biasa yang kita boleh lihat di Kapit iaitu di Warf expressnya.Pengangkutan utama ke bandar ini ialah melalui sungai dimana kenderaan yang biasanya digunakan adalah seperti Bot Ekspress yang kita boleh lihat di dalam gambar ini untuk mengangkut penumpang dan Tongkang yang lebih besar untuk mengangkut Kereta,Van dan Lori.

Police Station and the Horse Stable demolished to make way fro new
General Post Office Building.The Police Station then moved to current
Central Police Station nearby Padang Central while the horse Stable
moved to Jalan Lumba Kuda.
