The Bund Garden along Main Bazzar at Pengkalan Batu


 The Bund Garden along Main Bazzar at Pengkalan Batu.In an effort to beautify Kuching City,special attention was given to improving the parks and other spaces.The bund Garden as seen above was giving a face lift the replanting of flowers,provision of seat and foot paths.

The provision of miniature rock gardens with flowering plants on traffic island in the city centre was undertaken on a start in the campaign to make a "Kuching City" into a "garden city".Photo circa end of 1980's.

 The lives of Mirians are knitted together in harmony and unity.Places of worship ( Lutong Mosque and Good Shepard's Anglican Church) have coexisted for decades in peaceful environment.

Here we can also see kampung Pengkalan Lutong and Lutong bridge which was really small during it early time.

Shophouses at Jalan Tabuan


 Shophouses at Jalan Tabuan which are nearby to the Kuching Prison.Both the shophouses and Kuching Prison  are gone now, Kuching Prison had moved to Pedawan area while all these shophouses are all demolished.

The purpose of this shophouse being destroyed was to widen this Tabuan road as this road is close to the school grounds nearby.Photo Circa 1980's

The original Grand Old Lady of Miri


 The site of the first oil plant found in Mir at Grand Old Lady at Canada Hill, this picture is around the 1970s where the excavation trunk is different from the excavation of the current "Grand Old lady".

The original oil rig was usually made of belian wood, while the one you see in the "Grand Old lady" now is iron (more for decoration only).

Island road Sibu


 The Methodist wesley church with this new white tower addition to the original building. Behind it is the misionary Methodist Primary School. 

The Sentosa Inn signboard is illusive, it actually is in front of tower. Along this road, banks, clinics, timber companies, trading, news media and many old business establishment. At the end of road is the port and old hospital where the colonial administration stood. 

Town hall is now trying to rejuvenate this street, with an exhibition center to the left side and improvement to sidewalk in progress, as most visitors will not find this corner that popular yet.

 Miri City in 2008, the new beach was ready but the building blocks there have not been built, compared to now there are several new shop blocks, 5 star hotels and Miri City Council Building there. The name of the street there is like Jalan Marina , Jalan Marina Utama and Jalan Bandaraya

 Kayan girls playing "Woman Bamboo Nose" It is a flute that is usually played in the event of a major annual event.

 The Suspension Bridge spanning Sarawak river at Satok,Kuching.It was built primarily,for supporting the water pipes connecting Kuching with Matang reservoirs.

The PARAKU laid down with Sarawak Government


 Chief Minister Datuk Rahman (left) announcing return to society of 482 PARAKU members at Tun Razak Hall at Kuching.on March 4,1974.

482 PARAKU members,led by Bong Kee Chok,came out of jungle and laid down their arms.In all 585 PARAKU members return to society from 18th October to July 1st 1974."Operation Sri Aman" was sucessfully concluded.Government lifted curfew throughout Sarawak.

With him were the then home minister Mohd Ghazali Shafie and the then Sarawak affairs minister Temenggong Jugah.
